A near perfect Saturday

Finished off an errand that had been staring at me for weeks.  No, nothing big, just returning equipment to the cable company I quit about a month ago.

The place is less than five miles away, which without a car is a bit of a schlep and not in an area that I would normally go.  Nonetheless, within a minute of arriving at the metro station I was on my way to the Sierra Madre Metro Station, and within another half mile, I was clear and free of that cable company, yea!

Rather than returning by metro, I decided to walk back along Colorado Blvd. It was a bit on the cold side today and overcast with threatening clouds, but I was prepared with my rainbow umbrella (an honest gift from friends for house and pet-sitting, why rainbow, I have no idea, but it's well appreciated).

It felt good to walk, but as I said there wasn't much to look at, just a couple strip malls and mish-mash of small businesses, but about every mile there ended up being an unintentional destination.

First unintentional stop was Shogun Tattoo. Chatted with Charles about his work and made an appointment. Adding to my other tats has been a long time goal.  I'm so happy to push it forward. He's agreed to do some freehand art work, so there isn't anything to post until its done.

Second stop was the Game Empire. The people in the shop are very nice. Half of the store is set up for people to play games.  I came here once as part of the Pasadena Boardgames Meetup. Haven't joined in since that one time, but I should.  It really is a great way to meet people. I got some puzzle glue.

Got back to my neighborhood, starving, and before Euro Pane closed.  Felt great to sit down. Had a sandwich (on amazing olive bread!) and a cup of coffee.  Also pulled out a book (yes, something I carried with me the whole day along with my coat and umbrella).

On my way out, my sister called and we had a long, wonderful chat.
It was pretty much a carefree day that opened up in front of me.  Cool.
